AV EXHIBITIONS AND SEMINARS:

 

International exhibitions are an ideal forum for the sharing of DESIGNING_SOUTHAFRICA’S featured projects and resources with a global audience, enforcing the project’s primary focus on information and design collaboration, generation and sharing.

We have chosen to take the DESIGNING_SOUTHAFRICA initiative to Brazil in the form of an Audio Visual Exhibition and a series of Professional and Academic Seminars that will not only showcase, but give insight into the many diverse, multifaceted and exciting aspects of our Online World Cup and Cities Report.

Engaging South Africa’s leading, developing nation partners is seen as the next step in the D_ZA project. Reinforcing creative, economic and political ties, while opening up opportunities for the exchange of skills and knowledge with countries like Brazil, particularly in light of South Africa’s World Cup hosting experience, is the goal. Building bridges and better connecting South African cities with the World is the mission.

This interactive showcase will include featured D_ZA commentary, first-hand experiential accounts and professional critical analysis on themes of Identity, Access, Design, Economies and Urban Development and their relative socio-economic effects, in the context of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This will complement the launch of the soon to be published D_ZA book – ‘Reflections & Opportunities’.

Our Exhibition, Seminar and Book Launch dates are:

  • 27 April 2012: Sao Paulo
  • 2 May 2012: Rio de Janeiro

These Exhibitions and Seminars, together with the D_ZA Book and Online World Cup and Cities Report will provide a multidimensional and detailed account of the 2010 World Cup as well as South Africa – its people, its cities, its expertise and its dreams.
